Kinds of hosting solutions

A hosting solution suggests depositing and/or sharing given web content on a web server handled by a website hosting company. There are various sorts of hosting services utilized for different goals, so let's examine these. In this way, you can conclude what you want, depending on whether you'd like to create a weblog, email addresses, or to share files with chums and colleagues.

- File hosting: a service offered by some providers, which enables you to share immense files. These could be disk images, movies, audio files, archived files, and so on. This service is also known as file storage, and its only goal is to share files, since it does not support website uploading. Once the files are uploaded, you will either obtain a randomly created download link for each of them, or you will be able to read an inventory of all the files in a directory, but you will be unable to see .html or .php web files in your browser. Free file storage services are often supported by exhibiting advertisements next to the download links, while a timer makes you await a given amount of time to perceive them. A single file can be downloaded with restricted speed. If you get a paid file storage plan, there are no limitations as to how many files you can upload/download right away, and also there is no limit when it comes to the download speed or the file size.

Nowadays, with the help of the cPanel hosting vendors, "file hosting" is being renamed to the more voguish "cloud hosting". This is a completely twisted explanation of the real definition of "cloud hosting". An actual cloud website hosting system would distribute the tasks at hand between different stacks of servers in a cluster, which are devoted to attending miscellaneous web page hosting services (electronic mail, disk storage, stats, DNS, databases, hosting CP, etc.) So, the file hosting solution is just a brand of a disk storage hosting solution, not a cloud hosting one. It's not even near.

- Image hosting: similar to file hosting; certain suppliers provide a hosting solution for pictures solely. This hosting type is appropriate if you wish to share a large number of pictures with buddies or acquaintances since the service is mostly free of charge. You will obtain a randomly generated link for each picture or album and you can subsequently share this link. As with the file storage solution, .html and .php files are not supported, so the service cannot be used for websites.

- E-mail hosting: a service committed to managing your electronic mail accounts. Some firms provide website hosting solutions for web pages, but do not supply an e-mail solution. If you wish to keep an email address with your domain name but do not wish to possess a web site, then the e-mail hosting solution is what you need. You can set up mail address accounts and administer them, but there will be no hosting solution for the domains. The e-mail hosting solution involves incoming POP/IMAP and outgoing SMTP mail servers.

- Video hosting: this service permits you to upload and share videos. You can either share a link to a particular video file, or you can embed the video clip in your site that is hosted elsewhere. The benefit of availing of this method instead of uploading the video in a web hosting account is that the video file creates a given amount of central processing unit load, so with several video clips and several hundred website viewers, you may have a hard time with your hosting resources. Embedding the video clip will permit you to have as many video files as you desire without worrying about system supplies.

- Web page hosting: this is the solution that you need if you wish to run a web site. To some extent, it involves all of the abovementioned hosting forms since, along with your web pages, you can also host pics and files, you can have databases and mail address accounts, upload videos, etc. At NTC Hosting, for instance, you can have a glimpse at web hosting and dedicated server hosting packages that allow you to have all of the aforementioned solutions in a single place. There may be limitations based on the kind of hosting solution that you've settled on - a free hosting package, a paid shared hosting account, a VPS or a dedicated server. Depending on that, your webspace hosting plan may be better or worse compared to the customary email/file/video/image hosting plans that are made for specific content solely.
